G4S is pleased to announce today the addition of Cyber Consulting and Security Operation Centre (SOC) services to its Operations Security portfolio. The Cyber Security Services will enable G4S clients to add detection and response capabilities to existing risk management and security solutions to help mitigate cyber attacks. Security recommendations will be delivered and applied by experienced consultants while SOC monitoring services will detect emerging cyber threats in real-time, interpreted by threat intelligence analysts, to improve the cyber resilience and robustness of the organisation to withstand attack.  

Cyber resilience is an imperative strategy in the modern enterprise. Cyber assaults are now commonplace and the inevitability of an attack makes vigilance the best means of defence. According to a recent survey by the Ponemon Institute , 71 percent of organisations in the UK rate their cyber resilience as low, with only 36 percent confident in their ability to recover from attacks. The G4S Cyber Services will improve cyber resilience for its clients by offering Cyber Consulting to ensure security controls are in place to mitigate risks, satisfy compliance regulations, and provide incident response, while SOC monitoring services will deliver real-time actionable intelligence, heightening awareness and enabling clients to mobilise defences more readily to reduce the severity of an attack.

G4S Cyber Services will include:   

• Risk, Threat and Compliance Management – consultants will advise on risk, threat and compliance policies and how these can be managed to improve resilience within the organisation
• Architecture and Design – the review of physical and technical designs adjustments to create a more responsive stance that enables security resource to be harnessed and focused on demand
• Monitoring and Intelligence – real time threat intelligence to inform and steer the appliance of technical and physical security controls to protect people, places and critical assets

The Cyber Consulting and SOC monitoring services will see G4S move beyond preventative security measures, such as risk management and accreditation, to incorporate detection and response capabilities. The Cyber Services will be made available through the G4S Risk and Governance Division.
